FAULT TOLLERANCE The Co-location facility has various systems in place for handling situations such as power outage or failure, including UPS's, backup diesel generators and rerouting traffic capabilities. Network Connectivity In the event of network failure IP connectivity will automatically be re-routed around the problem area to ensure connectivity is not lost. Back-up generators The diesel generators activate automatically to re-power the facility during a power outage or failure. Uninterrupted Power Supply 3 x 16KVA UPS (uninterrupted power supply) units are installed at the end of each row of server racks as a safety precaution against short power outages of failures. This ensures servers remain operational during this time. INDUSTRIAL CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM The Co-location facility uses state-of-the-art technology for climate control. The facility is fitted with automated temperature and humidity sensors, as well as a high temperature alarm. All this is in place to provide the optimum server environment. GAS FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM In the event of a fire occurring within the Co-location facility, a highly effective INERGEN gas fire suppression system is activated to suffocate any flames. RAISED FLOORING The Co-location facility features a tiled, raised steel and concrete access floor. This flooring provides an electrical grounding that helps to maintain a static free environment, as well as assisting airflow to the servers.
